MOTM4L Joins the Celebration of the Completion of the Champlain Hudson Power Express

On June 16, 2026, Mentor On The Move 4 Life Founder and President Tyrone Gardner joined government leaders, business executives, and community partners in celebrating the completion of the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE), one of the most significant clean energy infrastructure projects in New York State's history. This completion ceremony celebrated a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of New York.

The Champlain Hudson Power Express is a 339-mile transmission line that now delivers clean, renewable hydropower from Québec directly into New York City through the Astoria Energy Complex in Queens. The project is expected to provide enough emission-free electricity to supply up to 20 percent of New York City's energy needs while reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality for communities across the metropolitan region.

For Queens residents, this project carries special significance. Astoria has long been one of the city's most important energy hubs, and the arrival of clean hydropower strengthens the reliability of New York's electric grid while helping reduce dependence on higher-emission energy sources. Cleaner air and a more resilient energy system contribute to healthier neighborhoods and a stronger future for families throughout our borough.
